• A staff member from Prospect Plantation leads one of our friendly camels.

My name is Stafford Burrowes and I run Prospect Plantation with my wife, Marilyn. We moved to Ocho Rios, Jamaica from Ontario, Canada. That’s where we operated Jamaica Flora Exports, the world’s largest exporter of anthurium blooms. Unfortunately, we learned that playing the role “absentee manager” was costly and downright difficult. So we closed down our flower shop and moved down to Jamaica, and that’s when I followed my passion and devoted myself to construction. We invested in a flower farm, started our first greenhouse, and just as we were thriving, we were hit by Hurricane Gilbert.

Thankfully, we kept our heads up high, and soon enough, in 2004, we secured a lease for the 1,100-acre property that is now known as Prospect Plantation. Today, we are continuously attracting a vast array of clients who seek a full, exotic and fulfilling Caribbean experience, and that’s what we seek to offer.
